Connie Balder Mickolajak has
discovered a very useful site, the Lexicon of Polish Cities, Towns and Villages. This
site is a great tool for travellers and researchers alike as it lists in German, Polish and English contact information and background
on all the cities, towns and villages in Poland. She also has found a site maintained by the Oldenburg
University in Germany that gives information on how to sort out loose ends and get more information from the book,
"Germans to America." A link has been added to both sites on our Resources page. Connie contributed
a picture of the "Saxonia, the ship on which Carl and Maria Balder
and their family immigrated. Last but not least, there is now a biography for Clifford Balder online
with a great picture of Cliff and his wife, Mary Joyce, and also of Connie Mickolajak and Cliff! Thank you so much,
Connie!

Sharon A. Farrah's father
has a book of original plat maps from 1903 to 1930 of some of the townships in Benton and Sherburne County, and has been
kind enough to share some of the maps with us. Thanks to them both, the townships of Alberta, Glendorado, Graham, Langola,
Palmer and St. George are all represented here. There is now a new Selected Maps section to the

Research from Sharon A. Farrah
has turned up St. Marcus Catholic Church of Clear Lake 1888-1978 with information regarding the
Beginnings of a Clear Lake Catholic Community. Not only does it contain historical
information about Anton Stimmler,
Anthony V. Stimler and
Father Valentine Stimmler, but it also establishes that
Magdalena Stimmler was Magdalena Otilia Haaf's
grandmother and namesake. This means that Joseph Leander Kampa's
line is doubly related to Mary Theresa Kampa's line
on both the paternal and maternal sides of the family!

Courtesy of Dick Kampa, there are a number of "new" photographs
of Kampa ancestors posted on their respective biographies. Edward, Clara,
Frank, August B., Bertha,
William and Joseph Leander Kampa have all
been updated as a result. In addition, for the first time on the site there are wedding photographs for
Henry and Loretta Winkelman (née Abfalter)
and August B. and Agnes Kampa (née Hawia).
Special treasures are some of the postcards exchanged between the Kampa brothers and their nephew Edmund Peter Kampa.
The front features a photograph of our Kampa relatives in pose or engaging in everyday events and the reverse has their
handwritten message which has been transcribed for ease of reading. Some of these finds are a 1909 photograph postcard of
Ed and Bill Kampa, Bill Kampa and his baseball team,
and Bill Kampa seated in the dining room of the Avon Hotel.

At the recent reunion the idea of an
Orphan Photographs section
arose as a way of showing and identifying family photographs of relatives whose names have been lost in time. Please
help us identify these orphans and give them a home! If you too have orphan photographs of relatives you think our
family group can help identify, please feel free to forward the original or a scan to
Rae Bordua and she will add them to the site.
