(age 10), Annie Mary (age 9), Charles (age 5), Joseph (age 3), and Mary (age 1) in St. George, Benton County, MN. His father was working as a farmer at the time. [Source: NA Film No. T9-0615, p. 169A]

At the time of the June 15, 1900 U.S. Federal Census, Frank was 27 years old and living in Melrose City, Stearns, Minnesota with his wife Cora, their two children, Edward L. (age 2) and Emma C. (8 months old), and his brother Charles F. Kampa Frank and Cora had been married for 3 years and were the parents of two children, both of whom were still living. He was working as a stationary engineer and Charley was working as a bookkeeper for the railroad.

As of September 12, 1918, Frank was living with his wife and family in Itasca County, Minnesota. He was employed at Oliver Mining. Frank was 45 years old, of medium height and stout build; he had blue eyes and brown hair.

In the January 9, 1920 federal census, Frank was 46 years old and living with his wife Cora and their 8 children in Greenway, Itasca, Minnesota. Brother Wilfred Kampa was boarding with them at the time.

At the time of the Apr. 17, 1930 U.S. Federal Census, Frank was 56 years old and living with his wife Cora, three of their children and five grandchildren in their own home in the unincorporated Hopper area of Nichols Twsp., St. Louis, Minnesota. He was working as a mountain (?) engineer in an iron mine and their 22-year-old son Otto was working as a stockman in a garage. Frank stated he was married to Cora when he was 23 and she was 19 years old.

(Marge Randall's memories of Uncle Frank): "Mary Ann, Grandma, Uncle Frank and I used to play 500 rummy a lot and they would both get so mad when Mary Ann or I would go out. And if Mary Ann or I didn't lay down a card Grandma could play her favorite words were, "Sure! Sit there with a mitt full."  Translated meant we were holding cards she wanted and didn't lay them down.  But we always played -- One summer Uncle Frank was there -- I think the entire summer."

Frank died of a heart attack at the home of his son, Robert. He was 76 years old.
