"Thomas Kampa,
aged 73 years, a retired farmer, who has made his home in this city for the past 15 years, died
at his home yesterday afternoon at 5:25. Mr. Kampa was born in Europe, December 21, 1851. He
spent most of his life on a farm located near Duelm. Retiring 15 years ago, he made his home in this city
at 325 29th Avenue north. His wife and 14 children survive. His first wife died 17 years
ago. The surviving children are: Joseph Kampa of Bowlus; Charles, Thomas, Jr., Michael and John of
Duelm; Mrs. Harry Hanchett of St. Paul Park, Minn.; Mrs. Geo. Selinski of Bowlus;
Mrs. Anna Marvin of St. Paul; Mrs. Paul Popilek, residing in this city at
507 Third Avenue south; Mrs. William Herbst and Mrs. Felix Balder of
Duelm; Mrs. Carol Walburn, Sartell; Miss Bertha Kampa of Minneapolis, and
Mrs. John Jurek.
"The body was taken to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Balder
at Duelm this afternoon at 1 o'clock. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at
10 o'clock from the Catholic church there. Interment will be made in the Duelm cemetery."
