Paul Stimmler has graciously shared with us a conversation he had in January 2001 with his Aunt Anita Stimmler Baffa (1912-2006) and her husband Richard Baffa (1904- ) about their recollections of his paternal grandparents, Joseph Peter Anthony Stimmler (1867-1943) and Anna Hennessy Stimmler (1873-1955). Anita Stimmler Baffa was Paul's father Leon Stimmler's only surviving sister and only surviving sibling in 2001 from among six original ones, when he interviewed her at the kitchen table of her daughter's home in Fairview Village, Pennsylvania. She provided most of the information while her husband Dick verified the events or added a little color. Also provided by Paul were a photograph of his Aunt Anita, aged two, with her father, Joseph Stimmler (seen in miniature at right), a copy of a handwritten estimate by Joseph Stimmler of work to be done on pipes at a house on Ezeliel Street, and a copy of the intention of naturalization papers of John Stemler, dated September 13, 1846. Thank you so much, Paul, for sharing this outstanding inverview and valuable documentation! Anita Stimmler Baffa and her father, Joseph A. Stimmler, Summer 1914, Wildwood, NJ

Michael Stimmler and his wife Joanne bought a 1989 34-foot Catalina sailboat back in March and are mooring it in San Diego's Mission Bay. Since then they have been going there every other weekend for three-day weekends. They say that it seems like there's always something to work on but they still manage to get in their share of sailing and have a lot of fun.
Mike wanted us to know about a web site he found that has a photographic tour by Matthew Johnson of the old neighborhood of Manayunk, Pennsylvania. Go to the link. Click on "Begin." Keep hitting "Next" and you can enjoy a really great photo essay. This has also been added as a link on our Resources page. Thank you for turning us on to this, Mike!

Adventures With Buddy by Spencer Stimler Uncle Spence Stimler's second book, Adventures With Buddy, is now published and he has a number of copies available. The format is somewhat similar to No Silver Spoon in that it is basically memoirs of his early life during the Depression. Adventures With Buddy has a Shetland pony as its central character. The book is primarily designed for children but we're sure that elders will find a good deal of nostalgia to entertain them. Certainly anybody who has experienced an association with a Shetland will discover many incidents they can relate to. Parents will find it easy and fun reading for those too young to read it themselves.
The book is 139 pages long, easy reading, and reasonably priced at $9.95. Spence will autograph all books and hand deliver locally in the Santa Maria area. He will mail to those out of the area for a total cost of only $11.00.
Get your order in early! Adventures With Buddy is a great Christmas present. Click here to let Spence know to whom you want the book autographed.

Sydney Kathleen Peltier 2004-2006 Sydney Kathleen Peltier passed away Friday, January 27, 2006. Sydney was born September 5th, 2004, the daughter of Joe and Sarah (Stimler) Peltier who reside in Champlin, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After five days of birth she was diagnosed with a disease called "amino acid disorder." The doctors found out about it in time that she could have lived a normal life with a special diet and medication. Unfortunately, there is not a cure for this disease yet but medical research is close to finding one.
Sydney was an angel from heaven to the family and obviously was very special to us all. She lived her life to the fullest every day with very special love and support from her parents. She had a beautiful personality and ALWAYS gave a smile to anyone who needed or wanted one. Sydney had a very close relationship with Gladys Stimler, her great-grandmother, and never failed to get either a laugh or a smile from Gladys at the drop of a hat. We love and miss her dearly and know that she already has her wings. Please pray for our precious little "Doodle 2".
