
Philip E. Dingmann passed away April 29, 2005
in Minnesota. He was 84 years old.
He was born December 16, 1920 in Minnesota,
the eldest child of Joseph Henry and Hilda (Bisemius) Dingmann,
and eldest grandchild of Edward Henry and Sophia Theresa Dingmann (née Stimmler).
Prior to late 1941, Philip was a trumpet player in the 217th Regiment of the St. Cloud, Minnesota National Guards. During World War II, the 217th
Regiment was the Post Band at The Presidio in San Francisco, California. Philip married Agnes Winifred McCarthy and they had five children. Agnes passed away on December 27, 1993.
Phil is survived by his children, Susan Elizabeth, Daniel Joseph and his wife Jennifer,
Philip Anthony, Patrick John and Peter Michael Dingmann, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Agnes, and brothers Joseph Henry "Jay" Dingmann Jr. and Daniel Dingmann.
There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial
11:30 AM Monday, May 2nd at The Church of The Ascension, 18th and Bryant Avenues in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

information about Napoleon's hussars to which ancestor Johann Stimmler (1791-1870) belonged. This
historical information has been added to the Stimmler/Stimler Family History

Max Leonard Stimmler passed away February 10, 2005
at the Foley Nursing Center, Foley, Minnesota. He was 86 years old.
He was born February 14, 1918 in Clear Lake, Minn. to Max John and Hattie (Ebner) Stimmler. Max grew up and attended school in Clear Lake. He married Dora Fischer on July 1, 1941 in Minneapolis. They made their home in Elk River and Max farmed and worked at the Princeton Coop Creamery, the Elk River Feed Mill and also did carpentry work on the side. When they moved to Milaca in 1971, he worked at Smith Systems in Princeton. Max enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening and his pets. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Max is survived by his wife, Dora of Milaca; children, Maxine Spears of Walker, Minn., Julene and husband Everett Warren of Milaca, Leonard Stimmler of Cambridge, Max and wife Carol of Elk River and Darryl and wife Mary of Milaca; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Hattie Mae Engstrom of Eagan; and brother, Harvey Stimmler of Texas; also by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl; sisters, Irene and a sister in infancy; daughter-in-law, Sharon Stimmler; and son-in-law, Jim Spears.

based upon his early childhood and being raised in a small town in southern Minnesota during the Great Depression. The book is titled
