and Frank, and sister Ida in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was working as a laborer

At the time of the June 4, 1900 U.S. Federal Census, B. W. was 37 years old and living with his wife M. C. and their four children at 3237 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. He was working as a miller foreman [Source: 1900 U.S. Federal Census, Minnesota, Hennepin, Minneapolis Ward 7, Dist. 80, E.D. 80, Roll T623_768, p. 12A]. At the time of the April 16, 1910 U.S. Federal Census Blucher W. was 47 years old and living with his wife Mary C. and their seven children at 3237 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. He was working as a general miller [Source: U.S. Federal Census, Roll T624_703, Part 2, Minneapolis Ward 7, Dist. 129, p. 46A]. In the 1910 Minneapolis city directory, Blucher's occupation was listed as miller, and he lived at 3237 Cedar avenue. In the April 4, 1930 federal census, Blucher was 67 years old and living with his wife Mary, sons Cecil J. and Paul S. and his family in Blucher's and Mary's home at 3237 Cedar Ave. S. in Minneapolis. Their home was valued at $7,000 (approx. $70,000 in 2001 dollars); son Paul, his wife Edna and their children Shirley and Richard rented part of the house from them for $50 a month. Blucher stated that he and Mary were married when he was 22 and she was 23 years old. He said he was born in Minnesota and that his father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Northern Ireland. The family had a 19-year-old maid named Valborg Ellickson. At the time of his death Blucher was retired and residing at the same address. He was 68 years old. |
