School teacher in early 1920s
Frances Katherine Kampa, 1928.

Notes: Frances graduated from Winona Teachers college on Thursday evening, June 5, 1924 at 8 o'clock at the Winona
opera house, one of 156 graduates who received their diplomas. The award was made by Resident Director S. H. Somsen. That year's class of 249 was the largest ever graduated from that institution, diplomas having been previously awarded at the middle and end of terms to the other 83 students who completed their studies at such times.

Frances and George Windhurst lived at 742 Templeton Avenue in Daly City, San Mateo County, California from 1932 until their deaths.

(Gene Kampa's memories of his sister): "Frances, my oldest sister ... taught school in Greenbush, MN in the early 1920's. She roomed with a family by the name of Bittner. Ernie Bittner, as I recall. For some reason, I always thought that the Bittners had some blood connection to Kampa's but am not certain of it."
