Notes: Judi reminisces on her mother: "[W]hen we lived in Louisiana, she was the one who took care of our yard. I can still remember her using scissors to
edge around the sidewalks. I still do some of our edging the same way. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles [and] . . . reading . . . Harlequin romances. . . . After my father's retirement . . . my mother had to go to work outside the home . . . . Her first job was working at a nearby company that assembled aluminum awnings and jalousie windows, I think. Her next occupation was as a maid at the Lehigh Acres Motel and Country Club. She eventually moved up to the position of Head Housekeeper there where she stayed for several years. She was forced to retire when she was about 70-years-old. . . . She was a very generous person and always looked out for those less fortunate than herself. She was a hard worker and a very honest person." -- from a January 21, 2002 e-mail to Rae Bordua

Judi reminisces on her mother: "Leon, the flower arrangement reminded me of times spent helping out with Mom (I think) at the nearby, ancient Brington Church (Anglican I guess and some of the tombstones were possibly from the 1600s) when we lived in Molesworth. Many different types of flowers were brought in by people from their gardens and wildflowers aplenty came from the fields and hedgerows. I don't remember going to any services there since it wasn't a CATHOLIC church. Wouldn't have been as much FUN anyway as attending the ones on base which were all in Latin, right.

"And, Rae, my mother used to bake cakes and pies quite often for us but also for the postmistress at the Brington Post Office, possibly for jumble or bake sales for the church (which we didn't attend, go figure). Don't remember any more details except her name was Mrs. Gaunt." -- from a November 22, 2018 e-mail to Leon and Rae Bordua
