Notes:In the April 23, 1930 federal census, Florence was 22 years old, living at home in Foley with
her parents and younger siblings, and was working as a telephone operator.
Florence liked to bowl, play cards, and travel. She loved children. She was known as
"Popeye" to many of them. In 1983 she moved to South Dakota to be near her daughter.
She died of heart failure Feb. 7, 1986 after three days in Tekawilka Nursing Home,
Sisseton, SD.
