At the time of the January 26, 1920 federal census, Otto was 24 years old and living with his wife Cora and their two children on a rented farm in St. George Twp., Benton County, MN. He said that he was born in Minnesota as was his mother, but his father was born in Germany. Otto was working as a farmer in general farming [Source: 1920 Federal Census, NA Film No. T625-824, p. 6B]. At the time of the April 7, 1930 federal census, Otto was 34 years old and living with his wife Cora and their five children, ages ranging from 11 to 4-1/2 years old on a rented farm in Minden, Benton County, MN. Otto was working as a farmer. He stated that he and Cora were married when they both were 22 years old. He lived there until 1962 when he moved to Brainerd. For the last five and a half years of his life, Otto lived with his daughter Edith in Bethel, MN. |
