Notes: At the time of the April 9, 1930 census, Ceola was 19 months old and living with her parents and six siblings in their own home valued at
$1,500 ($15,000 in 2001 dollars) in Foley Village, MN. The family owned a radio. Her father was working as a mechanic in a garage.

At the time of the Apr. 27, 1940 U.S. Federal census, Osceola was 11 years old and living with her parents and eight siblings ranging in age from 18 to 5 years in a house rented for $16/month in Buffalo, Wright, Minnesota. Her father had completed his education through his junior year of high school, and her mother had completed three years of college. She and all her siblings were attending school with the exception of brother Junior and her youngest sibling, five-year-old brother Gilbert. Junior had never attended school. In April 1935 the family had been living in a rented house in Benton County, Minnesota. Her father was employed as an auto mechanic in a garage; he had worked 26 weeks and was unemployed for 7 weeks in 1939, earning $750 that year.

"Tom was stationed on several ships during our marriage and also had duty as a radar instructor in Norfolk. We lived in Virginia for two tours of duty, then Rhode Island and California. Tom made Chief in California. Tom converted to electronics and had instructor duty in California. He had a tour of duty in the Philippines until his medical discharge 100% disability. Tom had 19 years, 3 months of naval duty. He received a kidney transplant from his sister on April 27, 1965. The operation was performed at the University of California in San Francisco.

"We have lived in Hayward, Poway, and Manteca, CA. We now live in Washington State, having come here for Tom to have a heart valve operation.

"2001 has been an auspicious year for the Weingards. Tom and I observed our 50th wedding anniversary in January. All our children were with us and helped with the celebration. Sometimes it seems like a long time ago since we were married, but actually the time has passed very quickly.

"In June, we journeyed to Eugene, Or. to be present at the wedding of our granddaughter, Natalie Nobriga. We were again fortunate to have our family with us with the exception of Natalie's brother, Mike. Mike is in the Active Army Reserve learning to become a helicopter pilot."

Diane Anthony (née Braun) talks about her Aunt Ceola: "Aunt Ceola sent me a beautiful quilt she made in my mom's honor. It looks just wonderful. It has her name on it and a memorial on the back with mom's picture on it. She said her and mom talked about doing this when mom found out I was pregnant and Ceola said she would make it for her and then mom could give it to me, instead she just mailed it to me. When I received it, I just cried...It was so thoughtful and considerate of her to do this for my mom. I immediately called her to thank her and tell her how much it meant to me and will mean to Maya." From an e-mail to Rae Bordua dated August 1, 2001
