St. George pioneer dies at home of son on Monday afternoon, October 1, 1934.

"Funeral services for Edward Balder, for thirty-five years a resident of St. George Township, will take place Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock at St. Patrick's Church. Rev. J. Bielejeski officiating. Internment will be in Church cemetery.
"Mr. Balder, who has been living with his son Ellsworth, has been ailing for some time. His death followed a cerebral hemorrhage on Monday, October 1, 1934 at 4:30 in the afternoon.
"He was born in Germany on December 13, 1856*; he was 77 years, 9 months and 18 days.
"Surviving, besides Mrs. Balder, are the following children: Frank and Otto of Foley, Reuben, Montana; Mrs. John Abfalter, Mrs. Joseph Brambrink, and Mrs. Frank Windleman, Duelm, Mrs. Ivin Laughery and Mrs. James Kane, Montana. Pallbearers are sons and sons-in-law: Ellsworth and Otto Balder, Joe Brambrink, Frank Winkleman, and a nephew Gilbert Abfalter."
