In the 1910 census the Kaufmann family consisted of John Kaufmann age 61, born in Pennsylvania, Saloon keeper;
Magdaline age 51, married for 5 years, no children born in Canada;
Philomina age 23; Regina age 20;
Alma age 15; Henrieta
age 14 and Nels Nelson, lodger born in Minnesota, who worked at a book binder shop.
At the time of the 1920 U.S. Federal Census, Minnie was 33 years old and living with her husband Louis and their four children: Gladys, age 7; Arleen, age 5; Michael, age 3; and Elinor, age 1-3/12 yrs. All the children were born in Iowa. The family was living in their own home on E. 2nd Street in Stewartville, Olmsted, Minnesota. Louis was working as a livestock auctioneer [Source: 1920 U.S. Census, Wesley, Kossuth, Iowa, Roll ____; p. 11A; E.D. 186]. Minnie died in Stewartville, Olmsted, Minnesota in September 1971. She was 85 years old. |
