Henrietta was 4 years and 9 months old when her mother died.
In the 1910 census the Kaufmann family consisted of John Kaufmann age 61, born in Pennsylvania, Saloon keeper; Magdaline age 51, married for 5 years, no children born in Canada; Philomina age 23; Regina age 20; Alma age 15; Henrieta age 14 and Nels Nelson, lodger born in Minnesota, who worked at a book binder shop. Shortly after their marriage, Henrietta and John moved to South Minneapolis, Minnesota where she was a mother, grocer, nurse and homemaker. At the time of the April 21, 1930 U.S. Federal Census, Henrietta was 33 years old and living with her husband John and their two children at 1812 Clinton, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The family owned a radio. Her husband was working as the superintendent of bulk sales for an oil company. John and she were married when she was 28 and he was 37 years old. Henrietta stated that she was born in Minnesota, her father was born in Pennsylvania and mother was born in Ohio [Source: 1930 U.S. Census, Roll: T626-1091; p. 7B; E.D. 102]. Henrietta's last residence was in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. She died on March 22, 1994 at the age of 98. |
