| Notes: |
Neurenberg Bremen to Baltimore 17 May 1875 |
On Aug. 18, 1893 while helping her son unload sacks of potatoes in front of Boyd's store in St. Cloud, Maria fell headlong from the rear of a wagon into the gutter, striking the back of her head forcefully on the granite paving blocks. She was knocked unconscious for a short while, suffered a gruesome cut to her scalp, and badly hurt her back. Luckily, she did not suffer a skull fracture. Maria Kampa died on July 25, 1898, in St. George, Benton, Minnesota, when she was 73 years old. |
