At the time of the Jan. 30, 1920 U.S. federal census, William was 26 years old and living with his parents and ten siblings in Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota. He was working as a salesman at a grocery store. At the time of the April 5, 1930 census, William was 33 years old and living with his wife Violet and their three daughters on their farm on Highway No. 3 in Clear Lake township. The family owned a radio. Daughter Marie was attending school. William said he was married when he was 23 and Violet was 22 years old. He stated he was born in Minnesota as were both his parents. Violet was born in Minnesota as was her mother, however her father was born in England. |
