HOW RUBE AND VIOLA MET
as recalled by Helen Lunblad (née Stimler)

The Hunt Sisters: Florence Jones, Helen Zeller, Viola Stimler, and Heartie Nordin, Buffalo, MN in 1930s.

"I remember something Mom told me about the way Rube and she got together in the first place .... Viola, her sister Heartie, and her two brothers, Lee and Harry, like to go to dances on Saturday nights. They went as a group but soon paired off with their favorite beau. Rube also came to these dances and figured himself to be quite a dancer so he would cut in on whatever pretty girl he saw. Harry, Lee and other guys decided one of the girls should keep Rube busy dancing with her so the others could continue to court the girl they liked. Mom said she lost the bet and she was elected to keep him busy. Apparently after a while it wasn't such a task and that is how all of our branch of the Stimler family came into being."
