Notes: Johann and Magdalena Stimmler and their family lived in Wilwisheim, Alsace, France. They immigrated to the
  United States, departing LaHavre aboard the packet ship Sully under the command of Captain William C. Thompson and arriving in New York on November 28, 1839. Daughter Franciska was 3 years old at the time [Source: N.A. Film No.  M237-40, List 862]. She and her family were listed on the ship's manifest thusly:

Francis and parents and siblings lived in Manayunk, Pennsylvania. After she married Joseph Schaaf they moved to Minnesota. The family located for a brief period at St. Paul and later moved to Carver County where they resided on a farm in Laketown for some years. They were living in Laketown on May 11, 1858, when her husband Joseph was elected as one of two justices of the peace in the first town meeting.
 
In 1880 her brother, Father Valentine, founded St. Joseph's parish in Murdock, MN. Frances moved with her family from Victoria in 1879 and settled in Murdock, and he visited the parish once a month.
 
At the time of the 1880 federal census, Francis was 49 years old and living with her husband Joseph and their 9 children on the family farm in Dublin, Swift County, MN [Source: NA Film No. T9-0635, p. 256D].
 
At the time of the 1900 federal census, Frances was 65 years old and living with her husband Joseph and their 30-year-old daughter Emma at 582 Lafond St., St. Paul, Ramsey county, MN [Source: Vol. 48, E.D. 130, Sheet 1, Line 13].
 
Francis died of a cerebral hemorrhage on February 7, 1912 at the St. Alexander Hospital in New Ulm, Brown County MN. She was 76 years, 8  months and 16 days old.
