Carver county, MN, Joseph was 4 years old and living with
his parents, two siblings and his uncle Nicholas on the family
farm. At the time of the 1870 federal census, Joseph was 14 years
old and living with his parents and six siblings in Laketown, MN.
He was attending school at the time.
At the time of the 1880 federal census, Joseph was 24 years old and living with his 22-year-old wife Annie on their farm in Dublin, Swift county, MN. Sister Mary and brother-in-law John Webber lived three households away [Source: NA Film No. T9-0635, p. 258C]. At the time of the June 7, 1895 Minnesota State Census, Joseph was 39 years old and living with his wife and their six children plus Sigmund Schaaf (age 18, working as a farm laborer) on the family farm in Dublin, Swift, Minnesota [Source: 1895 Minnesota State Census, Roll V290_100, Line 16]. At the time of the April 1900 federal census, Joseph was 44 years old and living with his 42-year-old wife Annie M. and their eight children on their farm in Dublin, Swift, Minnesota [Source: Vol. 61, E.D. 274, Sheet 3, Line 75]. At the time of the June 5, 1905 Minnesota State Census, Joseph was 49 years old and living with his wife and their seven children on the family farm in Dublin, Swift, Minnesota [Source: 1905 Minnesota State Census, Dublin, Swift, Minnesota, Roll MNSC_157, Line 28]. Joseph died of coronary sclerosis at his home at 3107 W. 47th St. in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN on April 4, 1933 at 3 p.m. He was 76 years, 10 months and 23 days old. He had been a farmer for 40 years, last working in that occupation in 1918. His wife Anna M. predeceased him. |
