DEATH OF AGED LADY
_______

"Andrew Anderson received the sad news Friday morning of the death of his mother,Mrs. Maren Anderson. Grandma Anderson was only sick a few days and death came as a surprise to the family as her health had been very good since moving to Minneapolis in September with the Anderson family where the young people were starting school at the University, Mr. Anderson remaining here to look after business. The remains were brought here Monday, accompanied by Mrs. A.S. Anderson and a son of the deceased, Mr. J.S. Anderson and wife. The funeral was held in the Union church at 2 o'clock and was largely attended. Rev. W.A. Warren of Clarks Grove officiated, E.M. Thompson having charge of the funeral.
" Mrs. Maren S. Larson was born in Zealand, Denmark in 1839 where she grew to womanhood and was married in 1862 to Soren Anderson. Four children were born of this union, 2 sons and 2 daughters, Andrew, James, Mary, and Anna. In the year 1880 her husband died. Andrew, being the eldest son, left the home in Denmark and came to America in 1883. The following year his sister Mary also came to the United States. Both received work here and the next year following in 1885 the mother and the two younger children came. The family settled in this village where the deceased has ever since lived up to September of 1920 when she moved with the A.S. Anderson family to Minneapolis. The immediate family who are left to mourn her loss are the two sons, J.S. Anderson of Minneapolis and A.S. Anderson of the village. A daughter, Miss Anna preceded her mother to the better land in 1913.
"She was a good mother, ever looking for the best interest of her family and has left a wide circle of friends who sympathize deeply with those left to mourn her loss. The last several years of her life were spent with her son Andrew and family and she will be greatly missed at their home where she enjoyed good care and every comfort.
"Those who came from away to attend the funeral are, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Farrington from near Blooming Prairie, Mrs. W.E. Ditlevson of Owatonna, Miss Anna Nelson of Alden and Miss Selma Nelson of Owatonna high school; the ladies are grandchildren of the deceased; Mr. J.S. Anderson and wife, and Mrs. A.S. Anderson who came with the remains. Mr. J.S. Anderson and wife returned to their home Monday evening and Mrs. A.S. Anderson will stay a few days here with her husband before returning home. The interment was made in this cemetery."
