| Notes: | Maren was born in Tastrup, Hyllinge, Soro, Denmark on February 1, 1839 where she grew to womanhood and was |
| married in 1863 to Soren Anderson. Four children were
born of this union, two sons and two daughters: Anders, Jens, Marie,
and Ane.
In the year 1880 her husband died. Anders, being the eldest son, left the home in Denmark and came to America in 1883. The following year his sister Mary also came to the United States. Both received work here and the next year following in 1885 the mother and the two younger children came. The family settled in Geneva, Freeborn County, Minnesota where Maren had ever since lived, at first with her youngest daughter, Anna up until her daughter's early death in December 1913, and then with her son Andrew and his family up to September of 1920 when she moved with them to Minneapolis. Her death came as a surprise to the family as her health had been very good and she was only sick a few days. |
