Notes:At the time of the April 8, 1930 federal census, Leona was
15 years old and living with her parents and nine siblings on
their own farm in St. George Township which was valued at
$4,000 (approx. $40,000 in 2001 currency). The family did not
own a radio. Her uncle Thomas and aunt Milly and their family
lived on the farm next door.
Leona lived in Foley most of her life and worked as a cook at
Foley High School for more than 32 years. She retired in 1977.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Christian
Mothers.
