Notes: At the time of the June 1, 1900 U.S. federal census, Clara was 17 years old and living with her parents and five siblings in St. George Twsp., Benton, Minnesota.
  Her father Martin, age 55, was working as a farmer.
 
At the time of the June 17, 1905 Minnesota State Census, Clara was 21 years old and living with her parents and five siblings in St. George, Benton, Minnesota. Her father Martin (age 62) was working as a farmer. Brother Charley (age 29) was working as a day laborer, and brothers Albert (age 26), Adolph (age 25), and Willie (age 19) were working as farm laborers.

At the time of the Apr. 28, 1910 U.S. federal census, Clara was 27 years old and living in Tonasket, Okanogan, Washington with her husband, David H. Blattner (age 42), his partner Joseph M. Blattner (age 46), her son William H. (3 months old), and 24 male laborers between the ages of 20 and 57 years old. Familiar family names among the laborers are Blaus Abfalter (age 45, married with 10 children), Frank Kampa (age 21, single), August Balder's son Emil (age 20, single), and William Kampa (age 21, single). Both her husband David and his partner Joseph were working as contractors for the railroad.
 
Sons Ervin Arthur and Kenneth Charles were born in 1911 and 1913 respectively, but in December of 1913 Clara's father Martin passed away when she was 30 years old. In May of 1915 her only daughter Lucille H. was born, however by August of that year her brother Albert F. had died at the relatively young age of 38. Her son Harold John was born in January of 1918 but less than a month later her mother Caroline passed away.

At the time of the Jan. 10, 1920 U.S. federal census, Clara was 36 years old and living in family home owned free and clear on a farm with her husband David H. (age 52) and their five children ranging in age from 9 years to 1 year, 4 months old in Sauk Rapids, Benton, Minnesota. David was a naturalized citizen who had immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1872, a farmer engaged in general farming whose native tongue was German but who also spoke English. Sons William, Ervin, and Kenneth all were attending school.

At the time of the Apr. 4, 1930 U.S. federal census, Clara T. was 46 years old and living with her husband David H. (age 61) and their five children ranging in age from 20 to 12 years old in their own home on a farm in Sauk Rapids, Benton, Minnesota. The family owned a radio. Husband David was working as a farmer. He and Clara had married when he was 41 and she was 27 years old. All their children were currently attending school.

In 1933 the Blattner family was living at 800 5th S in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

At the time of the Apr. 5, 1940 U.S. federal census, Clara was 56 years old and living with her retired 72-year-old husband, David H., and their two sons, Kenneth (age 26) and Harold (age 22) at 526 3rd Ave. S. in St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota. Clara's highest year of education completed was 8th grade, and her husband's was two years of college. Son Kenneth was working as a machine operation in road construction, and his brother Harold was working as a truck driver for a road construction company. Kenneth had completed three years of high school, and Harold had completed two. The family had been living on a farm in Sauk Rapids in 1935.

In May of 1945 when she was 62, Clara's brother Charles Joseph died, followed three years later by her eldest brother Joseph Charles in Feb. 1949.

In 1950 Clara and her husband David were still living at 526 3rd Ave. S. in St. Cloud. He died in Otter Tail County, Minnesota in Feb. 1952 at the age of 84.

When she was 74 her brother Adolph died in May 1957. In Nov. of 1959 her brother William Joseph passed away.

Clara died on May 7, 1965 in Stearns County, Minnesota. She was 82 years old.
