Notes: At the time of the July 1895 Minnesota state census, Frank was 5 years old and living with his parents, five siblings
  ranging in age from 10 to 1 year old, and John Thering on the family farm in St. George, Benton, Minnesota. His father was working as a farmer. Both his father and mother were born in Germany as was John Thering, but Frank and his siblings all were born in Minnesota.

At the time of the June 12, 1900 U.S. Federal census, Frank was 10 years old and living with his parents and seven siblings ranging in age from 15 years to 11 months old on the family farm in St. George Township, Benton, Minnesota. His father Frank W. was working as a farmer. Only Frank and siblings Anna and John were attending school at the time. His parents were married when they were both 17 years old. They were the parents of eight children, all of whom were living.

At the time of the May 5, 1910 U.S. Federal census, Frank was 20 years old and living with his parents and eight siblings in on the family farm in Glendorado, Benton, Minnesota. His father was working as a farmer in general farming, while Frank and his four brothers were employed as farm laborers on the home farm.

When Frank registered for the WWI Draft on June 2, 1917, he was 27 years old, single and described as being of medium build and height with light brown hair and dark brown eyes. He was employed as a steam engineer by McGregor & Company of Wolf Point, Montana.

As of the Feb. 3, 1920 U.S. federal census, Frank was 29 years old and living alone on his own farm in District 82, Glendorado, Benton, Minnesota. He was working as a farmer in general farming.

At the time of the Apr. 17, 1940 U.S. federal census, Frank was 49 years old, single and living in his own home worth $1,800 in Glendorado Township, Benton, Minnesota. He had been living in the same place back in April 1935. He was working as a farmer on the farm, 72 hours a week and 52 weeks a year. He stated that he had completed his education through the fifth grade.

Frank was listed as living in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota around the time of his death. He died in Benton County, Minnesota on Nov. 20, 1980 at the age of 90.
