Mayme was born in Custer, Portage, Wisconsin.
 
In the June 25, 1900 U.S. federal census, Mayme was 9 years old and living with her parents, five siblings and Paul Rinkaw (age 15, servant) in Stockton, Portage, Wisconsin. Her 38-year-old father Richard was a farmer.
 
As of June 1, 1905, Mayme was 14 years old and living with her parents, seven siblings and Patrick Murphy (age 12), her adopted brother, in Stockton, Portage, Wisconsin.
 
Mayme married George D. Balder on June 21, 1921 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Custer, Portage, Wisconsin. She was 30 years old.
 
In the April 2, 1930 U.S. federal census, Mamie was 39 years old and living with her husband George and their four children in their own home in St. George Township, Benton, Minnesota. Mayme died at age 51 on Feb. 26, 1942 in Benton county, Minnesota.
