Township with his parents, family and 10 boarders. Documentation in 1927 and 1945 indicates
Charles' residence to be Clear Lake.
In the April 7, 1930 census Charles was 46 years old and living with his wife Alyce W. and their four children on their own farm on Old Military Road in Clear Lake township. Also living with them were Margaret F. Sweeney, age 23, a single roomer who was a teacher at the public school, and Claude Parker, a 24-year-old hired man who worked as a laborer on the farm. Charles said he was married when he was 33 and Alyce was 24 years old. He stated that he was born in Minnesota as was his mother, and his father was born in New York. Son Robert and daughters Eunice and Dorothy were attending school. The family owned a radio. Son James T. was only a few months old. In November of 1947 when his sister Elizabeth Haaf Heydman passed away, Charles was 62 years old and living in Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota. Charles died on Feb. 16, 1950 in Stearns County, Minnesota. He was 75 years old. |
