In the April 7, 1930 census Alyce was 39 years old and living with her husband Charles and their four children on their own farm on were Margaret F. Sweeney, age 23, a single roomer who was a teacher at the public school, and Claude Parker, a 24-year-old hired man who worked as a laborer on the farm. Alyce said she was married when she was 24 and Charles was 33 years old. She stated that she was born in Minnesota as were both her parents. Son Robert and daughters Eunice and Dorothy were attending school. Son James was only a few months old. The family owned a radio.

Alyce was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Marcus Christian Mothers, Clear Lake and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Cloud. Documentation in 1959 indicates her residence to be Clear Lake.
