"Stimmler Brothers, hardware merchants of Clear Lake, Minnesota, are among the successful business men of Sherburne county. They are well known, having resided in this county for many years and are highly esteemed as citizens.
"Dan Stimmler was born in Clear Lake, Minnesota, February 10, 1882. His father Anton Stimmler, was born in France. He bought a farm at Clear Lake, Minnesota, in 1877, and on this home farm the sons were raised. Our subject remained at home until 1899, when he started a hardware business in partnership with his brother George. The father owns four hundred acres of land on section 16 of Clear Lake township, and on this property has an eight-room brick residence and a barn 46 by 60 feet with a fifty-foot gable. The mother of our subject bore the maiden name of Cressence Schone, and was a native of Germany.
"George Stimmler was born at Shakopee, Minnesota, August 14, 1875. He was also reared on the home farm in Clear Lake township, and in 1899 entered into the hardware business with his brother under the firm name of Stimmler Brothers. The business has steadily increased and this firm now carries a complete stock of hardware valued at $4,000, and owns the building which the stock occupies.
"George Stimmler was married in February, 1899, to Julia Sockley, a native of Clear Lake, Minnesota. Two children have been born of this marriage, namely: Gilbert and George."
