Notes: In the 1900 census, Daniel was 18 years old and living in Clear Lake Township with his brother George, George's
  wife Julia, George's and Julia's son Gilbert, their father Franz Anton and one lodger, Mary Halfman, the eldest daughter of Theodore and Julia Halfman (née Kampa).
 
On September 12, 1918, Daniel said he was born February 10, 1878 and claimed to be 40 years old. He and his wife Esther were living on Route 1 in Osseo, Hennepin, Minnesota. He was a farmer of medium height and build, with brown hair and gray eyes [Source: WWI Draft Registration Card, Hennepin County, Minnesota; Roll 1675469, Draft Board 0].
 
At the time of the April 9, 1930 federal census, Daniel was 48 years old and living alone at 2104 Aldrich Ave. in Minneapolis. He was working as a contracting plumber and owned the building where he lived which was valued at $3,500. He did not own a radio. Daniel stated that he was married when he was 22 years old, and that he was born in Minnesota, his father was born in Alsace-Lorraine and his mother was born in Germany. At the time of the Apr. 12, 1940 U.S. Federal census, Daniel was 57 years old and living alone at 2104 Aldrich Ave. N. in the Third Ward of Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. He had been living in the same place as of Apr. 1, 1935. He had completed his education through the 6th grade. He did not list any occupation at the time but did state that he had income from other sources.
 
Daniel was a hardware merchant in Clear Lake, MN with his brother George. From at least 1910 to 1941 he worked as a plumber and vapor heating engineer when living at 2104 Aldrich Ave. N. in Minneapolis, MN. He was still living there in 1952. [1910, 1939, 1941 and 1952 Minneapolis City Directories]
