Her father was working as a farmer and her three older brothers were working as farm laborers. At the time of the January 27, 1920 federal census, Pauline was 28 years old and living with her husband Felix on a rented farm in Palmer, Sherburne, Minnesota. Felix was working as a farmer in general farming. At the time of the April 4, 1930 census, Pauline was 38 years old and living with her husband Felix on their own farm valued at $4,500 (approx. $45,000 in 2001 dollars) in St. George Township. They did not own a radio. She stated that they were married when she was 24 and he was 26 years old. At the time of the April 20, 1940 federal census, Pauline was 48 years old and living with her husband Felix on a farm in St. George, Benton, Minnesota.
