Notes:At the time of the June 9, 1870 federal census, Helen was 13 years
old and living with her parents and 7 siblings in St. George, Benton
County, MN. She was at home at the time. Her father was working
as a farmer on a farm which was assessed at $1,200. The value of his
personal estate was $300. He stated he was born in Prussia as was
his wife, but Helen was born in Minnesota.
At the time of the 1880 United States census, Lena was 22 years
old and living with her husband Charles on their farm in
