In the June 10, 1905 Minnesota state census, John stated he was 47 years old and living with his wife Anna and their six children in Clear Lake, Sherburne country, Minnesota. He was working as a farmer [Source: 1905 MN State Census, Roll MNSC-153, Line 7].
 
At the time of the April 29, 1910 U.S. Federal Census, John stated he was 52 years old and living with his wife Anna, their six children, and a 19-year-old servant, John Furck. At the time of the January 26, 1920 U.S. Federal Census, John stated that he was 62 years old and living with his wife Ruth and their six children in Clear Lake Township, Sherburne county, Minnesota.
