John Imholte Passes Away
John H. Imholte, on of the old settlers of Clear Lake, died at his home in the village Friday, of cancer, aged 69 years.
Mr. Imholte was born in St. Augusta, January 10, 1858. Came to this town about 1881 and opened up a
farm north of the village which was the family home until about three years ago, when he quit farming and moved into the village. He made a successful farmer, and also filled
several town and school district offices with credit. He is survived by his wife and eight children: Leo and Ceisus, Helen,
Angeline and Ceta; Mrs. Louis Jueneman, Clear Lake; Mrs. W. Abfalter, and Mrs. Tony Pearson of Palmer.
Of the Imholte family of eleven children -- brothers and sisters -- only three survive: Jos. H., of
Clear Lake, Valentine of Fergus Falls and Mrs. Casper Mahren of St. Cloud, all of whom were present at the funeral. The above is
a picture of the family, taken about 29 years ago. At that time all were living and most of them in Clear Lake.
The funeral took place Monday morning from the St. Marcus Catholic church, Rev. Fr. Gospodar
officiating. Many were present from St. Cloud, St. August, Foley and Duelm. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
