"Fred W. Zertler, for twenty-six
years a resident of St. Cloud, died yesterday noon in his home, 523, Seventh Avenue South, following an illness of ten days. He was seventy-three years old, and death was due to complications from his age.
"Mr. Zertler was born in Prussia, near Berlin, in 1847, and came to this
country when about twenty-five years old. He lived for a time in St. Paul before coming to this city. He has made his
home in St. Cloud for the past twenty-six years. He has held the position of deputy state oil inspector off and on during
the past ten years. During his long residence here, Mr. Zertler established a wide circle of friends and acquaintances
who will extend to the family their sympathy in their bereavement. He was a member of the Sons of Herman.
"Mrs. Zertler survives her husband and six
children, as follows: Mrs. P. F. Malloy, of Milwaukee, Mrs. A. Robertson, of St. Paul,
Mrs. A. W. Walker of Philadelphia, Fred Zertler, of Kansas, W. H. Zertler, of St. Paul
and Arthur Zertler, of St. Cloud.
"W. H. Zertler arrived from St. Paul Saturday evening and
Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. W. H. Zertler are expected this evening. The funeral will take place tomorrow
afternoon at two o'clock. The services at which Rev. E. V. Campbell will officiate will be at the
