Notes: At the time of the April 8, 1930 federal census, Gene was 13 years old and living with his parents and nine siblings
on their own farm in St. George Township which was valued at $4,000 (approx. $40,000 in 2001 currency). The family did not own a radio. His uncle Thomas and aunt Milly and their family lived on the farm next door.

Gene was a resident of the St. Cloud area most of his life. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell, St. Cloud American Legion Post 76, Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club.

Darylene Kampa Daly reminisces on her Uncle Gene: "One of my dad's brothers Gene Kampa used to live on the Mississippi River in St. Cloud. He owned the Sale Barn and Car Dealerships in St. Cloud. Now his sons own the Car Dealership and they sold the Sale Barn." - from a Dec. 30, 2010 e-mail
