Notes: At the time of the June 9, 1900 U.S. federal census, Robert was 10 years old and living with his parents and five
  younger siblings ranging in age from 11 months to 7 years old in Buckman Township, Morrison, Minnesota. His parents had been married 12 years. His father was working as a farmer and as their eldest son, Robert was working as an unpaid farm laborer. He could read, write and speak English, and attended school for 6 months out of the year. The other five children could not read or write, nor were they going to school yet.

At the time of the June 14, 1905 Minnesota state census, Robert was 14  years old and living with his parents and his younger siblings on R.F.D. 2 in Buckman, Morrison, Minnesota. His father had been living in the same enumeration district for 25 years and his mother for 17 years. His father was working as a farmer.

At the time of the May 2, 1910 U.S. federal census, Robert J. was 19 years old and living with his parents and five younger siblings ranging in age from 11 to 18 years old in Buckman Township, Morrison, Minnesota. His parents had been married 21 years, and his mother was the mother of six children, all of whom were still living. Both Robert and his father were working as farm laborers. His father told the enumerator that he had emmigrated to the United States in 1867.

At the time of the June 5, 1917 World War I draft registration, Robert was 26 years old, single and living with his parents at Rt. 2, Royalton, Minnesota. He was employed in farming in Buckman and was supporting his mother and father. He was of medium height and slender build with blue eyes and light brown hair.

On May 7, 1919, Robert immigrated to Canada through Emerson, Manitoba with the intent "to settle on land." He stated he was a 30-year-old single farmer, could read and write, and that he had $280 in cash. He had last lived in Royalton, Minnesota and took a train from that place to Winnepeg.

Robert died Apr. 27, 1927 in Otter Tail County, Minnesota at the age of 36.
