Notes: At the time of the April 8, 1930 census, Robert was 43 years old and living with his wife Elizabeth and three children on their own farm in St. George Township.
  The family owned a radio. He stated that they were married when he was 31 and she was 20 years old. Both Robert and Elizabeth said that their parents were born in Germany.
 
At the time of the Apr. 24, 1940 U.S. Federal Census, Robert was 55 years old and living with his wife Elizabeth and their three children ranging in age from 18 to 10 years old in their own home valued at $1,500 in St. George Township, Benton, Minnesota. Robert owned his own garage. His highest grade completed was 3rd grade elementary school.

In 1942 at the time of the WWII draft registration, Robert was 56 years old and living with his wife Elizabeth on Route #1 in Foley, Benton, Minnesota. He was self-employed at his own garage in Duelm.
