Granddaughter Dorothy Bordua DeVeau remembers her grandmother as being "a tall, thin
woman with no bust. She had long grey hair that hung beyond her waistline; she would
wear it up all day." She and her husband had a farm in Somers where they grew many varieties of apples,
and whenever the family came to visit they would be sent back home with many apples. According to Dorothy,
her grandparents' marriage had been arranged and perhaps as a result they were the proverbial "Mutt and Jeff" couple. Her grandfather
was a very jolly fellow, short and stout, while her grandmother was more staid and conservative, tall and thin. Dorothy
recollects her grandmother as being very loving toward her.
