At the time of the Apr. 16, 1930 U.S. federal census, Marcella was 16 years old and living with her parents and five siblings in Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota.
 
Marcella was born to John and Elizabeth (Imholte) Bender in Clear Lake. She married Emil Berger on May 16, 1933. Emil and Marcella lived at 110 N. St. Mary in Clear Lake. Marcella was a housewife and farmer. She was a member of St. Marcus Church and a gold member of Christian Mothers. Marcella enjoyed gardening, crocheting and canning. In 1993 she was living at 8761 1st Avenue E. in Clear Lake.
 
Marcella died on Dec. 18, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota at the age of 97. She was buried at St. Marcus Catholic Church Cemetery, Clear Lake, Sherburne, Minnesota on Dec. 23.
