Anna was born in Denmark on
April 17, 1880. Her father died when she was just one month old. She, along with her mother and brother James,
was brought to the United States by her older brother Andrew in the spring of 1885. The family located in Geneva, Freeborn
County, Minnesota, and Anna lived there for most of her life.
Anna had a very sunny disposition. She was a dressmaker and a fine artist at her trade, at which she worked until the summer of 1913 when her health failed. She had been in ill health for many months and had sought medical assistance at hospitals in Rochester, Owatonna and Minneapolis. At the time of her death she had been the support and constant companion of her 75-year-old mother. Anna died on December 9, 1913 at the University Hospital in Minneapolis from Bright's disease, complicated by dropsy and heart trouble. She was 33 years old. |
