"The funeral of Miss Anna Anderson,
whose death occurred December 9th, in University Hospital, Minneapolis, was held Friday afternoon at the Union church.
The church was crowded to the doors and many were obliged to stand during the services. Sympathizing friends had placed
ferns and potted plants in the church and there were many beautiful designs in hothouse flowers sent in by friends and
relatives. H.P.K. Hansen, pastor of the Lutheran church, and the sermon was delivered in both the Danish and English
languages.
"Anna was of a very sunny disposition and had many friends and she will be
greatly missed. She was a dressmaker and a fine artist at her trade. She was always liberal and kind to her patrons and
will be very much missed in that line also. She had been the only help and companion to her aged mother and her going
leaves her very lonely. Besides her mother, two brothers, Andrew S. of this town and
James S. of Minneapolis, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Nelson, also of this
township, are left to mourn her loss.
"Miss Anna Anderson was
born in Denmark April 17, 1880 and her father died when she was one month old. She came with her mother and and
brother James to America in the spring of 1885, the others having proceded them by a few years. The family located in
Geneva and this town has been her home nearly all of that time. She attended the village school and later learned her
trade which she worked at unitl her health failed.
"The interment was made in the Geneva cemetery. The aged mother, who is
75 years old, and the other relatives left to mourn her loss have the most sincere sympathy of all their friends
in this sad bereavement."
