Billings Gazette Obituary of Reuben Balder.
"Reuben Balder, 73, Rte. 1, Hillman, died Monday in St. Gabriel's Hospital. A retired blacksmith, he had lived in Harrah, Wash., until a year and a half ago, when he came to the Hillman vicinity. He was born Dec. 13, 1892, in Benton County. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge, Toppenish, Wash., and of Holy Family Parish, Hillman.
"Surviving him are his widow, Stella; a son Bernard, Beatty, Nev.; a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Lillian) Dixson, Cody, Wyo.; a brother, Otto, Hillman, and two sisters, Mrs. Adelaide Laughery, Billings, Mont. and Mrs. Joe Brambrink, St. Cloud.
"Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Church, Minden Township, Benton County. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, and those named as pallbearers are Reuben Brambrink, David, Charles and Ray Balder, Bernard Winkelman and Jack Abfalter. Friends may call at the Virnig Funeral Home, Pierz, where the Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Friday."
