Notes: (Grandpa Don Kampa's memories of Mark Kampa): "Mark is the youngest boy and has always had a personality all his own. From the time he was able to walk,
it was with his chest out, apparently indicating, 'I am the greatest!' And he's always been full of confidence. When he was just 17, he came to St. Paul with the ambition of working for me and eventually running the company. He always seemed to look up to me. However, when he came here, I wasn't very far-sighted, and I didn't give him the job. I couldn't see how a 17 year old kid would fit in. I think I was a disappointment to him in that regard. He worked around town for awhile, and took a few classes, but he was unsettled. Eventually, he joined the Army and got into a helicopter unit. He was stationed at an air base in Georgia or Alabama, and attended flying school there. When he graduated, he went on a mission in Korea. Not a military action, but some kind of patrol duty. He spent a year or so there.

"After coming back and leaving the service, he got a job with the state of California as a pilot. He gets paid by the National Guard and also by the military in the state of California, and he's done very well. He married a gal in Los Angeles who has a good job with a firm that does computer work. Her name is Suzanne. They have three nice little kids -- Aleksandra, MacKenzie and Henry -- and a brand new baby boy -- Luke Nathaniel Joseph Kampa, born July 11, 1997. The little girls are at the age right now where they are blossoming and are extremely cute. They come to see me in Tucson quite frequently. Mark still regards his grandpa as someone special. He keeps in touch with me and we've always had good times together."

Mark is the author pseudonymously of a book published in 2010, Financial Advice for The New Graduate - www.Moneymechanix.net.

Mark is a Lt. Colonel in the California Air National Guard stationed at Los Alamitos air base and lives in Garden Grove, CA.
