| Notes: | MacKenzie graduated high school a year early and with high honors. She took her time to decide where and when to attend college. Her interests were in |
| medical, social services and the church mission fields.
On Apr. 26, 2014 MacKenzie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. The day before she along with 37 other nursing graduates were given their pins at the Ceremony of Pins, a nationwide custom at nursing schools for new grads. MacKenzie was recognized for her transformational leadership at the university. In June 2014, MacKenzie was offered a position in the nurse residency program in the Emergency Department at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Washington. She will go through 18 weeks of intensive classroom and clinical preparation before she gets brought on as a full-time employee in the ER (provided that she does well during the residency). MacKenzie is an ER nurse and is taking exams to qualify for studies for a degree that will lead her to become a Physician's Assistant. (I think that's the goal). She's applying to the U.S. Air Force for a program to serve after or while studying for the degree. Evan, from Minnesota, works in the same hospital and they work together at times. |
