Notes:

Johann Jr. was only 19 years old when he accidently fell off the roof of a mill building on which he was working with his father's company, and died as a result of his injuries. Up until the time of his death, he had been living with his parents and siblings at 4103 Main Street, Manayunk, Pennsylvania.

Paul Stimmler on Johann Stimmler, Jr.: "My Uncle Jim Stimmler who owned the original picture, told me [the story] before he died in Dec. 1983. My aunt Anita Stimmler Baffa volunteered the same thing 2 days ago, when she got out her copy. So he would be the son of John Stimmler 1829-1906. Ironically as fate would have it, the building from which he fell is on the same street, about three blocks down the hill, from 'Grospa Stimmler's' (1791-1870) farmhouse at the corner of Shurs Lane and Tower St., and two houses up the hill from the house where my father was born. . . . In this case, he bears a striking resemblence to our uncle Gerald (1912-1973) and his oldest son Gerald, our first cousin." (From an e-mail to Rae Bordua dated February 1, 2001)
