FRANK J. WINKELMAN


"FOLEY, Minn. -- Frank J. Winkelman, 75, a retired farmer, Rt. 1, died at the St. Cloud Hospital Saturday. He was born in Santiago Township, Sherburne County, Jan. 23, 1895, and lived in the area all his life. He married Clara Balder Oct. 4, 1921, in St. Patrick's Church and she died on Jan. 17, 1959.
"Mr. Winkelman is survived by children: Mrs. Donald (Myrtle) David and Bernard, Foley; Ralph, Milaca, Minn.; Delbert, Clearwater, Minn.; Mrs. Donald (Mary Ann) Neumann, Clear Lake, Minn.; and Gerald, St. Cloud; 35 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother and sisters, George, Mrs. Mary Hennek and Mrs. William Kampa, St. Cloud; and Sr. Alonzo OSB and Sr. Adella OSB, St. Paul. Two brothers preceded him in death.
"He was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Benton Barracks, Foley American Legion Post 298, Glendorado Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Bishop Marty Knights of Columbus Council.
"He was a member of the Santiago Coop Creamery and a director for 25 years and a member of the Santiago town Board for 15 years.
"Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church, Duelm, Minn. with the Rev. Val Klimmek officating. Military graveside services will be at the parish cemetery.
"Pallbearers will be grandsons of the deceased: Eugene David, Kenneth Neumann, Michael, Roger, Douglas and Chane [Shane] Winkelman.
"Friends may call at the Foley Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today."
