At the time of the April 7, 1930 federal census, Edith was 4-1/2 years old
and living with her parents and her four siblings on a rented farm in Minden, Benton County, MN.
Her father was working as a farmer. He stated that he and her mother were married
when they both were 22 years old. The family did not own a radio [Source:
1930 Federal Census, NA Film No. T626-1078, E.D. 10, p. 3A]. Edith married Victor James Vogtlin and they had eight children, four boys and four girls. At the time of her mother's death in September 1958, Edith was living in Hillman, Minnesota. In 1982 she was living in Bethel, Anoka County, Minnesota. Edith died in Princeton, Minnesota on October 29, 1982 and was buried at St. Rita's Cemetery in Hillman, Morrison County, Minnesota. She was 57 years old. |
