SUPREME COURT AFFIRMS VERDICT
FOR $5,000 GIVEN
MRS. BALDER.

_____________________

"Mrs. Ben Balder, widow of Benjamin Balder [incorrect, should be Bernard Balder], who was formerly of Minden, Benton county and was killed two years ago this winter in the coke house of the Zenith Furnace Co. in West Duluth, has won her suit against the concern named and a verdict of $5,000 secured in the St. Louis county district court, has just been affirmed by the supreme court.
"Mrs. Balder, formerly Miss Kane, daughter of P. Kane of Minden, was a bride of only a few short months when her husband met his tragic death. He slipped through a chute and was smothered to death in a big bin before help could reach him. The Balder boys, of St. Cloud, are cousins of the deceased."
