Wilton J. Anderson was born to Mr. and Mrs. James S. Anderson July 12, 1905, at Crookston, Minn. Later the family moved to Minneapolis, where he attended
the Lake Harriet grade school and the West High, from which he was graduated in 1924; he was a member of
the West High quartet. Following graduation he worked at theatres in Minneapolis.
In December, 1926, he married Miss Dagny Peterson, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Seming Peterson of Spring Valley. Two children were born to them -- Marilyn, 5, and Billy Jr., 2.
For a year or two Mr. Anderson has been in
failing health, but he never complained; finally his condition became so bad that he had to be taken
to a hospital on Nov. 8, where it was found that he had Bright's disease and anemia. He died Thursday,
Dec. 1.
The body was brought to Spring Valley and the
funeral was held from the undertaking parlors and the Gilman Luthern church Monday, Dec. 5, with
Rev. Berven in charge. Special singing at the church was furnished by Mrs. Gust Arneson and
Reverend and Mrs. Berven. Burial in the cemetery by the church.
Deceased is survived by his wife and two children, his parents
and an only brother, Walter, of Minneapolis -- besides a number of more distant relatives.
His untimely death has caused profound grief. He was a
most devoted husband and father, one of those kind and selfish natures always willing to sacrifice themselves for
others. Because of his splendid character and kindly disposition he had many friends. The most tender sympathy
goes out to his wife and little children.
As a tribute to his memory gifts to the missions
of the Luthern church and the children's home at Stoughdon were made by Mr. and Mrs. Allan Van Delist,
Mr. and Mrs. Seming Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Peterson. A large number of
flowers were also laid on the casket by friends and relatives from Minneapolis and New York City.
