At the time of the January 9, 1920 federal census, Nicholas was 45 years old and living with his wife Nora and two daughters at 328 Market Street, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (E.D. 497). He was working as a carpenter at a mill. He stated his father was born in France and his mother was born in Ireland [Source: 1920 Federal Census, NA Film No. T625-1617, p. 4B]. At the time of the April 4, 1930 federal census, Nicholas was 59 years old and living with his wife Nora and their daughter Dorothy in their own home valued at $3,200 at 328 Kingsley, (District 603) Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA. He was working as a tradesman in carpentry. He stated that he was married when he was 25 and Nora was 17 years old. He passed away at the Philadelphia General Hospital from atherosclerotic heart disease due to bronchopneumonia on May 14, 1947. He was 76 years old. |
